Empowering Adolescent Girls with Disabilities: Day 2 of Life Skills Training and Sensitization Meeting

On November 19, 2024, Voice of Disability Initiative (VDI) continued its impactful Life Skills Training program for adolescent girls with disabilities (AGWD) and a sensitization meeting for their caregivers and parents at Golden Tulip Apartments and Resort, Bayelsa State.

Highlights of Day 2

Motivational Session by Barr. Catherine Edeh
The Executive Director of VDI, Barr. Catherine Edeh, delivered an inspiring session on strategic focus and personal development. She motivated the adolescent girls to remain determined and proactive in pursuing their goals, equipping them with the mindset for future success.

 

Dialogue with Parents and Caregivers
Mr. Edward Ogenyi, VDI Program Manager, facilitated a session on understanding the importance of educational goals for adolescent girls with disabilities. During the sensitization and dialogue meeting, parents and caregivers were encouraged to actively support and prioritize the education of their children to unlock their full potential.

Goal-Setting Session for AGWD
The participants engaged in an interactive session on goal setting, helping them define clear objectives and develop actionable plans for their personal and academic development.

 

Icebreaker Session
An energizing icebreaker activity set the tone for Day 2 of the Life Skills Training. The activity helped participants bond, relax, and engage fully with the day’s sessions.
