Empowering Women and Girls with Disabilities: A One-Day SRHR Sensitization Program

In Enugu State, Nigeria, the Voice of Disability Initiative (VDI) organized a groundbreaking one-day sensitization and empowerment program focused on Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) for Women and Girls with Disabilities (WGWD). Held at Sunshine Hotel, the event provided a safe space for over 150 participants to access vital services, including:

– Free HIV & Hepatitis B screening and testing
– Palliative care distribution

Supported by AmplifyChange, this initiative aimed to promote inclusivity, awareness, and empowerment among WGWD, addressing the unique challenges they face in accessing SRHR services. By fostering a supportive environment, VDI enabled participants to make informed decisions about their health, well-being, and rights.
