NATIONAL COMMISSION FOR PERSONS WITH DISABLITIES PRESS RELEASE

AYUBA GUFWAN ASSURES VOICE OF DISABILITIES INITIATIVE (VDI) OF IMPROVED WORKING RELATIONSHIP WITH THE COMMISSION
The Executive Secretary, National Commission for Persons with Disabilities, Chief Ayuba Gufwan has assured the Board members of Voice of Disability Initiatives (VDI) of a robust collaboration for the benefit of Persons With Disabilities in the society.
He disclosed this while receiving the VDI delegation in his office, today 23rd, August 2024.
Addressing members of the delegation, the ES appreciated the contributions of VDI in the advocacy for the inclusions of Persons with Disabilities in the past.
” I am aware of your support to the campaign initiatives led by the Commission on many occasions and wish to urge you to keep up the good works” he said.
The ES equally stated that the battle is not worn yet and enjoined every disability Stakeholder to come together in order to achieve the desired goals as a “three fold cord is not quickly broken”
He further mentioned that his appointment as the Executive Secretary of the Commission was a divine call to serve the community .
Gufwan reiterated that he will stay committed to the course of Persons with Disabilities to improve their lives irrespective of their special needs.
Earlier In his remarks, the Board Chairman, Voice of Disability Initiative, Barr. Daniel C. Uwaezuoke congratulated the Executive Secretary upon his appointment and seized the opportunity to inform him of the cordial working relationship which exists between VDI and the Commission..
Also present at the meeting were the Executive Director VDI, Catherine Edeh and the Director, Social Integration Department, NCPWD, Mr Lawrence Idemudia who recounted the activities and impacts of the previous collaboration the Commission shared with the Group.
According to him, the collaboration has yielded significant results and also emphasized more on the good memories.
