VDI Advocates for Disability Inclusion at Federal Ministry of Health

On 19th March, 2024 VDI embarked on a courtesy and advocacy visit to the Federal Ministry of Health, Federal Secretariat, Abuja. The esteemed Director of GASHE, Dr. John Ouvoraye, warmly welcomed the VDI team, led by our Executive Director, Barrister Kate, and Dr. Edwards, the Programs Manager.
This visit provided an invaluable opportunity for VDI to engage with key stakeholders in the health sector and advocate for enhanced disability inclusion policies and practices. Dr. Ouvoraye’s reception exemplified the Ministry’s commitment to dialogue and collaboration in advancing the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities.
During the meeting, fruitful discussions were held on various strategies to promote accessibility, inclusive healthcare services, and empowerment initiatives for individuals with disabilities. The exchange of insights and ideas reinforced VDI’s dedication to driving positive change and partnerships for a more inclusive society.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Ouvoraye and the Federal Ministry of Health for their hospitality and receptiveness to our advocacy efforts.
VDI remains steadfast in its mission to champion the rights of persons with disabilities and create a more inclusive and equitable future for all.
